You don’t get attention by being loud.
You earn it.

Out of millions of stimuli a second, the brain admits only what clears three gates. Capture. Hold. Compound. Everything else is filtered, ignored, forgotten. This issue is about the work that gets through.

i · The Theorytat
Capture · Hold · Compound

A theory of attention, applied to you.

Attention is the rarest currency of the modern age. In cognitive psychology it is the brain’s filter for limited processing capacity, and out of millions of stimuli a second only what clears three gates gets through. Everything else is ignored, then forgotten. We apply those three gates to every piece of work we make.

02
The three gates02
Gate 01 · Selective attention

Capture the eye

In a feed of infinite stimuli, the brain decides what to notice in milliseconds. We build work that gets picked, through salience, contrast and pattern breaks.

Gate 02 · Sustained attention

Hold the focus

Most content is captured for a second, then dropped. We build work that holds, using pacing, tension and emotional weight that give the brain a reason to stay.

Gate 03 · Memory consolidation

Compound the memory

The third gate is where attention becomes recall. Most campaigns fade on the last post. We build work that compounds, so each one lands sharper than the last.

We do not ask you to trust the theory alone. It was proved in public, on our own page, for years, without a budget behind it.

05
iv · The Methodtat

How we actually work.

01

Diagnose the noise

A cognitive audit of your category. What has the brain already learned to ignore, and where is the gap you can own?

02

Build the signal

Message, format, creator fit, salience cues. Every choice traced to a principle rather than a hunch.

03

Run with rigour

Creators, content and paid managed as one operating system. Briefs in, performance out, no slippage.

04

Compound the attention

We feed the signals that worked into the next campaign, so every piece makes you sharper in memory.

v · Letter from the founder06
Ishika Didwania, founder of The Attention Theory

I have always belonged in front of a camera.

For a long time I held back. I had things to say and no courage to say them. Then one day I decided to do it anyway. The first videos went up. The trolls came. I kept posting. Other women started seeing themselves in what I made, and the page grew. No one funded the journey, so I worked the industry from the inside while building it. Agencies. Brand teams. Creator collaborations. I have sat in every chair this industry has, and noticed the same problem from each of them. Everyone is fighting for attention. Almost no one understands how to earn it.

vi · Both sides of the tabletat

We are not here to take a side.

The brand sees
The creator sees
What tat does
“This rate seems high.”
Three days of work, two reshoots, one revision round.
We price the work, not the follower count. The brand sees line items. The creator gets paid for days.
“The brief was clear.”
Nine mandatory talking points in a 20 second reel.
We cut the brief to one message per asset, then say which eight points to lose.
“It underperformed.”
The hook was approved by committee and died in 1.5 seconds.
We test hooks before the shoot, so nobody finds out on posting day.
“Let’s just do barter.”
Rent is not paid in product.
We structure barter as a top up on a fee, never as the fee itself.
